2 days went by quickly without anything much worth blogging about...
AMI top 10 girls was perhaps the worst performance night on record, and at least we're getting somewhere with the necessary eliminations...
the top 12 and idol gives back shows seem to be gearing up to be pretty big...

thursday's english practical was another rather surreal period, and i just spent it doing my mock IOC prep...
honestly, i don't quite get what the deal is with 'oh my ex-students are demigods, let me show you their work which i sacrificed time blood sweat tears hair for'
back when they were at where we are now i hardly think that was the general sentiment, and i dare say when it comes to the crunch, those of us who've got it will show it...
no overconfidence here, simply mutual venting, no?

academic awards' presentation today, and it was deathly boring for the first hour or so in school, so spent it chatting with han an at various venues around the school before we got chased back in my s.sim/p.soo...
met up with sean for some AMI chat in the SAC while waiting for the re-pre-yls briefing to begin...
that went by quickly, mercifully, and coupled with Sarina's email, i thought i'd send out an email to Chamber 19 to keep everyone on track...
i'm normally a little skeptical about this stuff 'cos i'm a sucker for well-run MUNs and stuff, but what andrew said during the briefing made me think - if we're to make applicability our main directive, the general summit mindset has to be slightly different...
i felt pleasantly surprised and satisfied after the briefing and sending out the chamber mail...

met jim while heading off from school, and apparently he was meeting some of our classmates for lunch in town, but i had stuff to do so declined the kind invite...
oh and Gen just texted us to get band concert tickets from her for the 24th performance at the esplanade, and she mentioned that it was on her birthday, so i guess we'll be pretty compelled to fork out the 20-odd dollars for that... =)
that's a day before Maroon 5, and 3 days before KT Tunstall, neither of which i've decided whether i'm going for yet...
oh and 5 days before YLS of course, so my 29th is kinda burnt, ruling out Fun-O-Rama i guess, though i wasn't particularly interested in going or anything...

one more day of school in week 6 tomorrow, with lunch plans post-founders' day, and hopefully some time to get my world lit done before Sunday...

you were there; and it made me smile just knowing that(:

music update!

of course it'll be AMI first, and my picks for the night are 2 of the 3 Davids - David Archuleta and David Hernandez!

and check out Janet Jackson's new album, DISCIPLINE, which is similar to Damita Jo in the way its recorded, but slightly more pop-hip/hop than smooth R&B...
the new range of spruced-up Macbooks and Macbook Pros have been released, and while the upgrades are not mind-blowing, one good thing that has come out of this is reduced prices...
now for just under 1.6K you can be the proud owner of an Apple laptop, arguably the most in vogue thingum to have after an iPod...

the tougher half of week 9 is finally behind me, and i have emerged more or less unscathed by the whole affair...
got back my Math test results and rehearsed a pretty decent TOK presentation (and i was surprised to get so many questions from my classmates, 'cos i thought everyone would either be preparing their own presentations or doing some other work/stuff, so yay =))all in a short Wednesday, so now it's just World Lit and EE that's due next week...
speaking of the former, M.G went a little apeshizz after ppl couldn't tell her their assignment titles, so hopefully that spell would have gone by when we start on Lear tomorrow...
which adds the last thing to my to-do list - King Lear Extract 18 (act 4, scene 7) mock IOC...

awards presentation on friday is in the morning, which probably means all lesson time is burnt up...
i do have a re-pre-YLS briefing at 1pm, and there is school on saturday morning after all (founder's day and (not sure 'bout this yet) Life Science Symposium rehearsal), so the week is still far from over...

can't you tell i'm trying to get closer to you?(:

Tuesday, 26 February 2008

a rather blah day ended pretty well with dinner at the Shanghai Cafe, after a short study group in which i got more of my World Lit Assignment 1 ideas together...
tomorrow's has been cancelled 'cos of poor attendance, and i could do with the break to go home before the sun sets for the first time this week...
Math Test was ok, though i didn't see the formula for the area of a trapezium until i had finished the paper, so i hope he accepts my method...
so tomorrow it's TOK presentation rehearsal, and han an tells me we're meant to book our 2 slots for the career fair next Wednesday...

back to Huck Finn for tomorrow's lesson with Melissa...

and i hope what i can offer you is enough(:

Monday, 25 February 2008

what a Monday...
one of the most sapping days i've ever had this year by far, and not for all the right reasons...
the day started out slowly with the boring-as-(insert your preferred description) founder's day rehearsal that ate up our chem period...
then it was English with Melissa, whose comments on my Paper 2 essay i've just read =)
after that, it was just hanging around for about an hour while my class was at PE waiting to leave the school with the rest of the Book Prize interviewees...
i shoulda just went ahead with PE since all my class did was Sit-and-Reach, but i mighta gotten carried away with squash or something, so i guess it was a good thing i didn't after all..
hopefully we get to play squash again next week =)
cabbed to New Phoenix Park where we proceeded to wait for far too long for short barely-10-minute interviews...
the first thing they asked me was "tell me about your life", and i was slightly taken aback, so didn't remember to talk about like my outta-school ife... i musta sounded heck boring to them...
so with that done, we headed back to school for the first English A1 Test of the year, and that was one helluva way to end the day...
the poem was perhaps the most open-ended poem i've ever encountered, and after hearing what others wrote, i'm slightly unsure of my commentary's direction...
fingers crossed real tight...
(update: after reading the links that Daryl sent me, i am SOO worried right now, heh)
had some food with Daryl/Chongwee across the road before hopping into a cab home...

now it's just Differential Calculus for tomorrow, and my tests for the term are finished =)

and if i had taken a breather from my rush, seeing you like that probably would've taken my breath away.
you're truly a sight to behold(:

Sunday, 24 February 2008

forgot to mention that i had dinner at Sushi Tei, Holland V yesterday with Han An after his stint at Choir Camp...

today was meant to be more work, and i guess i kinda did a little, though not as much as i would've liked...
so World Lit will be pushed to next week, perhaps during the 2 study groups on Tuesday and Wednesday...
planning to have dinner at the Shanghai place in thomson and Holland V respectively, the latter 'cos we've decided that the yogurt at Frolick is far superior to that age-reversing dribble sold irregularly in school...

interview tomorrow, along with first English Test of the year...

it's week 9 already, and a long 6-day week it will be...

too many days without you.

Saturday, 23 February 2008

taking yesterday off was a pretty good idea, though i did kinda feel guilty during the day...
whatever, it was a catch-22 type of thing - if i did go to school i'd be kicking myself for not having stayed home to do work, so yeap...
i finished my TOK stuff (essay and presentation), which is pretty ok...
that leaves world lit 1 draft and EE touch-up for tomorrow, and this weekend can be considered pretty useful...
of course not taking into account today's rather pointless NUS CCS quiz...

and i was reminded of when i first fell for you.

Thursday, 21 February 2008

ANTM cycle 10 is out, along with the new episodes of Project Runway and One Tree Hill... so these, added to this week's AMI telecasts, should keep me sufficiently occupied...
and speaking of being occupied, i've still yet to decide whether to entertain myself at home with my TOK essay, presentation, EE and world lit, or go to school tomorrow instead and take the earlier part of tuesday off instead... that way, i can just go straight for the all-important math test, though the problem with that is i might bee too preoccupied with math to even fathom doing any other work...
urgh decisions decisions...
and just so it's clear, this day-off thing is quite out of a lack of options - it's either take a break and do work, or go to school and not to work, so yeap...
but if there was a day to take off completely without missing anything important, it was today...
although i did officially have 4 lessons, TOK can be considered null, econs was only 40mins, english pract was with a relief teacher (but i must say it finally got me thinking about Paper 2 essays, which was quite stimulating) and math right at the end of the day...
and math totally left me with an awful end to my day...
i'd like to clarify that my wrong answers for the middle few integration examples in the purple book were because i was trying them out myself before anything was taught, and i need at least a few dozen questions to get me going on the right track, so yeap...
i felt so urgh to the point of having to go to class and crack my head over 2 questions that have hindered my completion of my integration worksheets, and after numerous calculator processes, it turns out the questions are inherently flawed...
i'm a bit obsessive with the whole get-all-math-questions done thingy...
and to make sure i don't look completely daft to d.yap, i'm gonna pass up the first 10 worksheets i've completed for integration either tomorrow or monday even before he assigns them to us, leaving me only 3 left to do before my math work for the semester is so over

ok math rant over...

and all you need is to ask, and i'll come running.

Wednesday, 20 February 2008

today was those kinda days that can't be considered really stressful or really slack, really good or really bad...
it was kinda just anything-ish...
marginal number of lessons, getting econs and math tests back, getting carried away with the integration frenzy and being late for econs class, regular study group, dinner at the other CJ outlet, american idol 7 top 12 guys performances...

oh and this seems to be going around my classmates' blogs, and i've been tagged, so here goes my participation in my first MEME -

123 Meme:

1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages)
2. Open the book to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence
4. Post the next three sentences
5. Tag five people

so my book that lies in the "to-be-read" section is Tim O'Brien's Going After Cacciato, a war novel by the author most known for The Things They Carried...
here are the sentences:

'Sarkin Aung Wan stood back and gazed at him. Her earrings gave off a soft glow. She sighed.'

and the people i tag are Chups, Deon and Adriel. (the ppl who've most recently tagged on my blog (so i know they read the blog) and who have not been Meme-ed yet, i hope)

and your touch was, and still is, all i need.

Tuesday, 19 February 2008

a lesson in foreshadowing - while walking to the first of our 2 english classes today, i told daryl that i have a penchant for making careless mistakes when papers are too easy...
i really shouldn't have said that...
after handing in my math trial test paper today, i realized i made a really silly mistake, forgetting to recalculate the value of 'y' in question 5 after correcting my wrong equation...
how blah of me...
apart from that, during the 20-min break in the earlier part of day, there was this odd occurrence where i was talking to daryl about a person with a rugger fetish, and it so happened that when there was one of those awkward ebbs in conversation where everyone takes a breather, i decided to use that exact moment to mention that said person was a flirtatious skank...
cue pause as everyone turns to look at the offending speaker, made more melodramatic by cielo dropping the ornament she was about to attach to our projector...
it was kinda hilarious, partly because once everyone knew who daryl and i were talking about, the label seemed wildly appropriate x)

short day tomorrow, with study group no less...

and there's so much more i would like to tell you.

Monday, 18 February 2008

week 8's off to an ok start...
met our relief history teacher, or rather the person who recites stuff we need to write in our notes taking the place of the regular person who recites...
it's slightly better in that there aren't any useless activities anymore, so yeap...
there was a little screw up during the 2.4 trial today 'cos our teacher forgot to get our timings taken correctly, so that was an exercise in futility...
played badminton for the third PE lesson in a row, and kinda lost track of time, so only had a few minutes to head back to class, change, get my books, run down to get a drink for class, then rush to econs practical...
post-school, han an/sean/lucy and i had some chat time, a welcome reprieve from an altogether blah day...

part 1 of calculus test tomorrow

and i'd give anything up to spend those few minutes with you.

Sunday, 17 February 2008

'cos there are just so many deadlines i thought i'd put them here just so i can keep track -
1) EE final draft (3 hard copies, 1 soft copy) - 7 March, Friday, 5pm
2) World Lit Assignment 1 Draft 1 - Week 10
3) TOK essay 1st draft - 25 Feb
4) TOK Presentation rehearsal - 27 Feb

other important dates -
1) NUS quiz - 23 feb (same as Fusion)
2) SPF Book Prize interview - 25 Feb
3) Founder's Day academic awards presentation - 29 Feb
4) Life Science Symposium rehearsal/real thing - 29Feb/3Mar
5) EDB seminar - 7 March

and jim just told me we're having another 2.4 trial run tomorrow, so i've got about 12 hours to mentally ready myself...
having 10 hours of sleep and still being able to take a nap in the middle of the day should indicate just how draining the school week was for me, so saturday was nothing more than stocking up on much needed sleep, a commodity i will be having in far less quantities come week 8, 'cos from then on, it's just deadline after deadline...
i've finally narrowed down my candidate days for not going to school - either friday week 8 or tuesday week 9, so yup...

played for both CM sessions today, so when i finally headed down to meet everyone we were ready to head to Pizza Hut, Siglap for lunch...
then it was off to Haagen Daaz for their Chocolate Fondue, a rather ritzy 47-dollar (tax inclusive) affair that's slightly better than the coffee club one, and also about 3 times as expensive...

it's safe to say this weekend hasn't been the most labour intensive on the work front, but i actually never really planned to finish anything substantial, 'cos i've kinda planned out which days i'll be setting aside for the 4/5 big things i need to finish by week 10...
this coming saturday's kinda burnt already 'cos of the NUS quiz and Fusion, which is why i need that extra day off to finish off my work...

Planetshaker's annual album is out in stores now...
Free has a slightly different sound from previous albums, so have a listen =)

week 8 ya'll, hope it's a good one.

and you came back with that smile that makes me feel likewise (:

Saturday, 16 February 2008

i never really planned to attend Love/Retreat, the Theatre Arts class of '08 play, until very recently when my class wanted to make an outing out of it, but i have to say that it has made for an incredible end to the week...

so i didn't quite get the free periods i was hoping for, which meant i didn't get as much chem studying in as i would have liked, but the test turned out to be a carbon (haha, chem term no?) copy of the tutorial we had already done...
sadly, i've already located one mistake i made, so hopefully that's the only one...
we were released right after the test, so we had more than half an hour to burn until school ended, so was chatting with some classmates until it was time to head upstairs for the "what to say in an interview" briefing by the principal 'cos there are six of us (Ronald, Tien En, Clifton, Kevin and Ian) going for the SPF Book Prize interviews the following monday...
that went by quickly, leaving me more than enough time to head home and get ready for the play in the evening...
met clarence on the way so had some company while heading back...
with all that time on my hand, i did what i needed to do in a few hours, but i knew that if i stayed at home i would have falled asleep and felt terrible after, so decided to head to sean's place for some mahjong with deon/han an before going to school...
Love/Retreat itself turned out to be a short, succinct and thoroughly enjoyable performance...
there was extreme hilarity and sufficient depth to make it a pretty good play...
after a semi-successful attempt to take a class photo, we headed to holland v, taking a short detour to pay Lex a visit at the basketball courts...
on the bus there, Mel realized her watch wasn't on her wrist, and while ppl were calling others who were still at the bus stop, it suddenly occurred to me that i knew where it was - something had fallen on the ground behind me while we were walking along the unlit portion of the basketball court, and i thought it was just a twig...
so Mel gave my directions to Lex who successfully found the missing timepiece...
we headed to Swensens, and unlike the time at Brewerkz, there was quite a bit of surplus from the bill, so we put it in the rather small class fund...

i'm really glad i had the chance to take a break tonight before i dive into the work for the weekend, 'cos i don't think weeks 8 to 10 will offer me any free time to do anything of this sort...
but  the fun from tonight should last till term ends =)

and when i got the chance watch you closely, it took my breath away.

Thursday, 14 February 2008

thursday went by pretty quickly, though it was a rather surreal day for 5 reasons in all, many of which really shouldn't be discussed in too much detail...
tomorrow should be fun, as i only have one real lesson, which is chem test right at the end of the day, so my evening's activities have been limited to just studying organic chem...
and there's Love/Retreat in the evening, which we're supposed to make a class outing out off, though i'm not sure if everyone remembers...

AMI top 24 performances next week!

and if i knew the words i'd sing them over again for you
these two days of study group have left me mentally drained, which explains my absence from the social world last night when i just crashed and burned when i got back from holland v...
same with tonight, except that there's AMI, and we know full well that Idol takes precedence over sleep and all that jazz...
and Hollywood Week packed into one brilliant 2-hour episode has got to be the best thing AMI has ever done!
absolutely adore how succinct this season is turning out to be, and tomorrow we'll know if the spoilers for the top 24 were right!

and i've saved what you said to me on the way out/cos it all but made my day.

Monday, 11 February 2008

Amy Winehouse is perhaps the single most talented young artiste we've seen in a very long time...
go London!
the 2.4, or rather 2.8km trial run today went pretty well for the first 2.1km which i completed in 10.20, but shortly after running the next 150m or so, i just died and had to stop for a bit... but i think i should be able to carve out a 12.00 by the time the real test comes by...
the econs test was postponed 'cos naresh clean forgot about it, but i must say i did learn quite a bit about the finer details of protectionism in that 100mins...
there were like 12 ppl in econs only since so many were absent or had gone for the swim heats...
made for a slightly more interactive lesson...

Grammy's are on in a few...

nothing much on the timetable tomorrow, especially since wty told me before EE this afternoon that "touch wood" he might not make it to class 'cos he kinda doesn't have his voice anymore...
oh and b.ng, for all his intellect, didn't see it fit to give me any comments on my EE draft, instead just asking me to redo some technical stuff and hand him a second draft...
i was a bit blah at first, but decided that that is what you get for choosing a teacher who's so laid back...

study group tomorrow perhaps

and when i looked across to you it totally brightened up my day.

Sunday, 10 February 2008

i had planned to run my errands (like paying a visit to jean yip to get my hair did and to school to get my econs stuff and to popular for a stationary run) and then head back home, but got a text from josh midway through the day, and since i was already in the west, i thought i'd stop by sam's place...
little did i know that i'd be here for dinner too...
but while waiting for everyone to arrive (i was early) and while jake/sam/adriel are at the gym, i've successfully read through and made brief reminders for myself on Macroecons, so the test tomorrow shouldn't come as an absolute shock to my system after having not touched any of my work from last year for over 2 months...
oh and my class will be having our trial 2.4km run tomorrow, so for silver, i need to be below 12.50, and for gold (as ambitious as that might sound) i need below 12.00

so has this been a memorable 5 days?
in some ways it's just been like any other short break, a very welcome one in the midst of the madness that is IB Year 2...
but in others it has made me take a breather and survey things that might be more significant that churning out essay after practical after presentation...

knowing that i'd see you again has that effect on me:)

Saturday, 9 February 2008

since New York Fashion Week has been underway for a while now, and with reality TV shows Make Me A Supermodel and Project Runway having their own spots at Bryant Park, check out Bravo TV's webbie for a look at the final collections of the 5 designers (Rami, Jillian, Chris, Christian and Sweet P)
from the looks of it, Jillian has the strongest overall collection, while Rami has that one WOwe W piece, and Christian's is the most over the top (but strangely cohesive)
and the guest judge is V.Beckham

spent day 4 of the break having lunch at Sushi Tei, Holland V, followed by mahjong at sean's place with han an/paul...
had steamboat for dinner, over which there was loads of stuff aired about class dynamics and whatnot...
and honestly from all that i've heard, i'm beyond thankful to be in six.nine, probably the most conflict-less class, where we genuinely enjoy being with the class for extended periods of time without needing to be heavily medicated or having the urge to throw something lethal and someone else (well, save for that one you-know-who whom we've requested a Distribution Board for)
didn't get to go to school to get my Econs stuff since it was kinda late, so cabbed back with han an instead...
probably gonna stop by after church tomorrow before i visit the hairdresser so wty doesn't go all berserk on me for having longish hair...
and speaking of him, he wants to quiz me/daryl/patrick in preparation for the NUS politics/current affairs quiz on the 23rd... so here's a thought - what do you regard as the top 3 most pressing current issues now?

it's been a good break so far, and i'm glad i spent it in a non-work kinda way...

reading Facebook walls and from a phone call that occurred today, it got me thinking about what a right shame it is that we've drifted so far that the description "friend" seems like an overstatement... sigh indeed...

and know how to be there to pick you up;

Friday, 8 February 2008

ok first up -
the American Idol 7 Exit song (taking over from Daughtry's Home) is "Hollywood's Not America" by Ferras (off his soon-to-be-released album Aliens and Rainbows), and it's sublime... unfortch i can't quite get it online yet, so gotta wait till it becomes available...

day 3 of the break went by pretty well, if in a slightly unproductive way...
after lunch in chinatown i went to town thinking that i'd have at least a few stores to visit, but everything (and i mean everything, save for a 7-11) was closed, so that contributed to the day feeling rather useless...
took a trip down to the esplanade to take in the sights and sounds of the river hongbao festival and hua2yi4, or chinese cultural festival... the chinese drums there weren't anything i couldn't see in school once or twice a year x)

so apart from that this has been a fairly non-work break, as it should be...
tomorrow's plans have been slightly dampened 'cos it seems everyone has plans of their own, be it overdue work, more visitations, vacations or others i don't quite know about...
nonetheless, han an/sean/me/paul (post-lunch) should have a pretty fabulous time nonetheless, starting with some delish food at holland v (olio dome's pasta again perhaps)

2 more days of the break left

and if i only knew how to fix it for you..
day 2 of the 5-day break went by very succinctly; 3 houses in 3 hours, then back home for some one tree hill/project runway/american idol...
got a text from josh earlier in the day about meeting up perhaps, but i guess that fell through since there wasn't any followup...
heading to chinatown ('cos you just have to go to chinatown during chinese ny) for lunch, then maybe do a round of the stores there or in town since i've got no plans...
it's been relaxing so far; might have a get-together on saturday with the usuals for mahjong and stuff... if it's in the west then i can drop by school and grab my econs stuff to study (or at the very least re-familiarize myself with the content) for monday's macroecons test...
but besides that i'll try not to think about school stuff till week 7 begins...

and i wonder what you might be doing whenever something reminds of your name
:)

Wednesday, 6 February 2008

i spent my few hours of extra break (as compared to the rest of singapore who get off at around 11-12) this morning watching 27 dresses at the cathay with sean/gen/han an...
not a bad show, good soundtrack, and the first movie i've watched since 2008 began...
sarah came along for lunch at the jap place in the basement, and i must say that it's one of the most affordable jap places around, about the same price as the clementi one i normally go to...
if you just eat sushi at 99c a pop, you can get a really decent lunch for under 10SGD...
we walked to TCC at peace centre to avoid the crowds, but it was unfortunately closed, so ended up at Starbucks for drinks instead, and they've upped their prices marginally...
played Silent Hill at Tapz with han an for the third time, and we get further each time we play... it's quite an addictive, if unbelievably expensive, game...

4 more days to shrug off the stress of the past 6 weeks...

and just so you know,
(:

Tuesday, 5 February 2008

it stills comes as somewhat of a surprise to me that week 6 is already over, and slightly prematurely 'cos the decision to let us go after the boring-as-watching-a-glass-of-milk concert was over was kinda sprung on us...
i'm glad i stayed behind and kept the study group momentum going with lucy/sean/han an ever since we decided to have it on Tuesdays as well, 'cos it meant i had slightly over an hour of pure work, and i'm finished with the organic chem tutorial we were given to prepare for the next lesson...
in essence, along with the math work i finished over the weekend, i don't have any holiday homework left outstanding =)
so maybe the World Lit 2 outlines counts as something unfinished, but it's due on week 7 and there's no EA1 strand 1 lesson on monday, so i could technically get it done after school on monday if i really wanted to...
and there's the Macroecons test on monday which i've gotta study for, and i unfortunately did not bring any econs books back, so i just might wing it and look through the stuff i HOPE i already know on monday itself...
and speaking of stuff i left in school, my TOK materials are another, which means i can't start writing my next essay draft... but that's less important compared to my presentation, and that i can do using the notes i typed out on my laptop last week building upon the slightly-above-average 15/20 mark i got for my mock...

there are two types of school days that make me feel shitty and stuff, normally with the quintessential headache to top it all off...
the first is a day with way too many lessons and far too little break or poorly scheduled breaks, and in those cases normally a cup of strong coffee, an additional cup of juice (on top of the 2 i normally have already, pineapple-watermelon and apple-orange) will keep me alive until i get home...
the second is slightly more annoying...
it's a day when there just so happen to be too few lessons and too much lull in between classes, making the time spent in school completely unjustified when compared to the marginal productivity achieved... today happened to be one of those days...
econs was a waste of time as he just repeated what we learnt yesterday...
there was no history practical 'cos of an sms i received at 4am this morning while i was doing my assessed chem pract informing me of an unfortunate incident that meant we couldn't have our test today, meaning to say i'll probably forget all i've memorised over the past few days...
so having taken a break during that lesson after writing my chem pract out again for repetition's sake, we had the actual chem pract, and that was an exercise in neat writing as i transferred my practical for the third time, getting a cramp in the process of writing too much too fast...
and since i finished slightly earlier, i had 80minutes left before the CNY concert began, and since i'd already taken a break earlier in the day, it meant i had more time to reflect on the uselessness of my day, which does bad things for morale and worsens the headache...
i need not mention how intolerable the concert was, and the only saving factor was that it ended early...
i salvaged what was left of the day during study group, which at least eased my conscience slightly knowing that week 6 wasn't completely wasted...

so yup, that's the week for ya, and i'm just gonna take the next 5 days nice 'n easy, gearing up for what is sure to be a hectic last 4 weeks of term...

but if they do,
your's does likewise.

Sunday, 3 February 2008

and all i can do is wish that those words were meant for me
.(:

During Taboo -
Han An, "OMG!! I'm such a..."
Deon, "WHORE!!"

that kinda sums up tonight's uproarious experience...
Janga was just an icebreaker, and the real fun began with Taboo...
that hour or so was the hardest i've laughed in forever, and the vodka (carefully hidden from the eyes of the waiters) in our drinks helped make it even more hilarious...
so to Deon: Happy 18th in advance once more
and to all at the party: it was a blast!
headed back on the NEL with Gareth after we made tentative plans to watch 27 Dresses after school tomorrow...
it feels like the CNY break is already here, when in reality there are still 2 full days of school to get through...
it's history test tomorrow, and then graded chem pract on tuesday, and i'm more or less home free...

it's week 6 ya'll, we're halfway through the term...

Saturday, 2 February 2008

the school week ended quite pleasantly yesterday...
i only had history (at the beginning of the day) and chem pract (right at the end), which means 160minutes free in between...
spent the first 40 minutes in the library with han an doing work, the next 40 minutes with him and sarah in the SAC having a snack, the next 40 minutes in class laughing at gerald getting deo-ed in the nether regions (it really wasn't an out of the ordinary experience if you're in six.nine), and the last 40 minutes in the SAC with daryl/patrick/joash having more food...
post-school, headed to Subway, Holland V with sean/deon for an end-of-week chat and good sandwiches (in contrast to the grub we have to settle for in the SAC)
met kevin on the bus there and jialin at subway...

while hunkering down in an obscure seat on the bus for a long ride home, and with the rain providing a constant, calming rhythm on the roads outside, i was reminded of the many hours i spent in the back of pickup trucks in Khao Lak, Thailand...
especially on rainy days during the second trip, when there were quite literally no traffic lights and the journey on the road was one seamless 80km/h whizz, when the laughter of the morning when recollecting the highjinks in the hotel rooms from the night before, or the complaints of the end of the work day were exhausted, when only the collective, yet individually heard, sounds of a few iPods playing anything from soft rock to jazz provided entertainment for the ride...
that experience was one that brings back a contented smile at knowing that it was enough...
that short, simple experience during which each one of us could have been thinking of any number of thoughts...
it was enjoyable in a way that i'd not experienced anywhere since...

it's the weekend
come out and play
