the school week ended quite pleasantly yesterday...
i only had history (at the beginning of the day) and chem pract (right at the end), which means 160minutes free in between...
spent the first 40 minutes in the library with han an doing work, the next 40 minutes with him and sarah in the SAC having a snack, the next 40 minutes in class laughing at gerald getting deo-ed in the nether regions (it really wasn't an out of the ordinary experience if you're in six.nine), and the last 40 minutes in the SAC with daryl/patrick/joash having more food...
post-school, headed to Subway, Holland V with sean/deon for an end-of-week chat and good sandwiches (in contrast to the grub we have to settle for in the SAC)
met kevin on the bus there and jialin at subway...

while hunkering down in an obscure seat on the bus for a long ride home, and with the rain providing a constant, calming rhythm on the roads outside, i was reminded of the many hours i spent in the back of pickup trucks in Khao Lak, Thailand...
especially on rainy days during the second trip, when there were quite literally no traffic lights and the journey on the road was one seamless 80km/h whizz, when the laughter of the morning when recollecting the highjinks in the hotel rooms from the night before, or the complaints of the end of the work day were exhausted, when only the collective, yet individually heard, sounds of a few iPods playing anything from soft rock to jazz provided entertainment for the ride...
that experience was one that brings back a contented smile at knowing that it was enough...
that short, simple experience during which each one of us could have been thinking of any number of thoughts...
it was enjoyable in a way that i'd not experienced anywhere since...

it's the weekend
come out and play
