the world of IB really is something. it isn't your run-off-the-mill A Level replacement; it's an academic prep course that is unrivaled in a number of ways.
the characters it produces have this common sense of humour and world outlook that is a product of the rigours we are put through.
on Facebook, for example, our November IB Exams have been put under the category Flea Market. that was quite a funny injection into my otherwise dreary afternoon of studying.
just like in June, i began with English A1. the difference is that the luxury of having a week to go through all my stuff is now substituted with just one day, leaving the rest of my week for the more "content-heavy" (i use this term cautiously, as the English A1 course is anything but content-light) subjects, one per weekday.
i'm still some way away from finishing the Course Companion, co-written by Hannah Tyson, who is a remarkable figure in the IB world if my tutor's comments are anything to go by. she was involved in the moderation of my seniors' oral marks.
i had actually planned to write the Paper 2 essay on layers of meaning, but as in many occasions, plans remain just as they are - unfulfilled, lofty aspirations. i hope to get the compiled set of notes from our last strand 2 lesson via email from my tutor soon; at least that might be the necessary impetus to get me writing.
