running for council back in nj was amazing, i felt so old!

CAMPAIGNING begins on monday!
its gonna be the most amazing week i hope, especially if everyone goes all out...
my campaign party's super duper, with me, elendrus, fracoise, nurul and deborah...
thanks to all the ppl who have helped and are helping us, we certainly need the extra hands...

so i've not slept much this week, averaging 4 hours a day, and yes that's alot by some ppl's standards, but not mine...
and i probably have to do it for the next 2 weeks coz of campaigning and the forums and what not...
but it does add another dimension to school life...
oh not to mention debate and intercolls...

here's a gentle reminder to VOTE JLC (ok gentle was a bit of a stretch)

TWELVE DAYS!
my blogging habits have really made a turn for the worse...
i guess its just that there haven't really been things that were worth penning down...
but thank goodness for the hols and the return of some semblance of social life...
so here's a short recap:

YLS on saturday was NOT what i thought it would be...
i had envisioned a whole day of bill formation and debates, but that was limited to 3 hours in the afternoon...
the morning was spent sitting in the cpa listening to talks...
i thoroughly one of the 3 addresses though...
i had much hope in the Q&A session, but after the first few questions, i just got really bored...
so jit (who had abandoned chamber 3 to sit with me, really grateful for the company) and i took a short break that included food
lunch was pretty good, sat with deon/paul/elendrus from chamber 7 and ryan from chamber 5...
since we had an hour plus, spent the better half of it talking to jit/deon...
then it was the debates (was paired with fellow ex-RMUN-er penelope), and my chamber (4!) was pretty cool, with ppl from nj (justine from CAP '04) and rj as well...
eventually the chamber passed brendan's (env. ministry) bill over mine, but it was kinda ok...
went with ryan to watch elendrus play soccer after a really tasty tea and before the press conference...
presented chamber 4's stuff with brendan, then it was the certificates stuff and before we knew it, it was over...
had dinner with a whole mishmash of ib ppl, jit/adrielleong/sarina/michelle/tessa etc at holland v...
then went for dessert at nydc with bryanzhao where we gossiped talked abt ib ppl till 11...

met up with the HL 2/3 history classes and michael ang for dinner at vil'age (its marche under a different name, seriously) on sunday...
was pretty fun, love LOVE the crepes as usual...
then it was CS at cine, and one too many games of fooseball (table soccer to some)
and finally drinks at starbucks outside california fitness...
didn't join my class for the FRIENDS marathon sleepover at nic's place coz i was way too tired...

met merv at the unearthly hour of 930 (ok, so i was a little later than that, but who can blame me, isn't 930 the time some ppl go to bed in the hols??) at novena square where he had sent his brother off back to truly asia...
chatted for an hour before jit came from his piano lesson, then went for lunch at fish&co...
met yewjin before cabbing to his place...
played table tennis for real for the first time this year, though we had a few breaks coz of the rain...
in the end we just stopped coz the rain didn't let up, which meant we were marooned till yewjin's uncle gave us a lift out...
took 156 with jit to rtc before cabbing back...
and played dota for the first time this year with clarence/elendrus/yewjin...

training on wednesday got the competition machine going again after ncs...
went to buy tix at vivo for thursday...

met yewjin/sean for dreamgirls at 130, and it was the better of 2 shows we watched...
loved LOVED all 2 1/2 hours of it!
fav song out of so many is jennifer hudson's I Am Changing...
had lunch at superdog, and i finally realized that i just don't quite like hotdogs as much as the next...
walked around before going to sean's place...
watched idol (go melinda doolittle, my goodness i loved HOME) where brandon got voted out of the top 12...
he was in the bottom 2 with sanjaya, and if i were the former, i would have STRANGLED him there and then on stage...
played tennis with sean's sis for an hour or so before having dinner and cabbing back to vivo for the pursuit of happyness...
i had anticipated many kleenex worthy moments, but i was left a little underwhelmed...
the only really touching scene was the one where will smith was crying in the toilet...

went to church for the easter drama Remeber Me? rehearsal where i'm narrating with rachh...
had a long chat on the bus home with sher/guonian...

no plans for tomorrow coz i was unsuccessfully in trying to coordinate 5 rather incongruous schedules via email... x)

its been 11 days since i last posted, which is the longest so far not by choice but by circumstance in recent history...
there's a pun on history coz i still have a history essay to do which i can't complete as my history text is in school...
i didn't get a chance to go into class to get my stuff on founder's day, so yeah...
it was slightly raining in the morning, so we all thought the parade would be called off and so half my level was in the sac, but at about 745 they asked us to go down, while it was still raining significantly...
so the smart ones, some teachers included, opened umbrellas and just tried not to get wet, which kinda distracted us from what was going on in the front...
let's just say the rest of the festivities were dressed in prada... =)
went with yewjin/sean to thai express holland v for curry on the first of 4 really cold, wet days, which were totally welcome given the heat of the days that preceded...
went back to school for the symposium rehearsal till 3...

oh i must mention my council interview the day before...
it went pretty well, though my phone vibrated really loudly twice, but there was good reason coz i was running the interclass debates at the same time!

the last three days of the past 11 have been way better than the rest, and i'm glad the last week of term 1 starts off on such a nice note...

but before that, let me rant about cabs...
i've had FOUR horrible experiences in as many days:
thursday's cab ride to school cost be a zillion dollars coz the guy took the commonwealth route and i was stuck in the queue of cars waiting to turn right into dover road from buona vista station, and ppl kept cutting illegally!
when i drive in the future i will never EVER allow that...
then on friday, i decided to take the expressway instead, and it would have gone really well if not for this 3-car pileup at the narrowest point of the AYE, and it forced traffic to meander around the cars that were on lanes 3 and 1... WHY OF ALL DAYS?!
then yesterday (sat), i was afraid i was gonna be late for my meeting with jill/elliot and i had missed my bus, and no cabs stopped for me until 503pm which totally drove me nuts...
and i took my second surcharged cab ride to sam's place after, so i've spent like 40odd bucks just on taxis so far... urgh

right, friday...
post-traumatic cab ride, i went to cpa2 to watch some more of batman begins on my iPod while waiting for assembly to end, then rushed to get my chem practs printed before the symposium started...
reading out the questions and everything was pretty fun, though there were 2 instances where the answers were wrong, and i was ever glad i could excuse myself coz i long left alice (and 2 others) in wonderland... x)
went to meet han an in the chem lab coz i had met him in the morning, and it was pretty cool that the rest of the ppl i was planning to meet were all in the same lab...
went for lunch with yewjin/ronald/xinquan/clarence/elendrus/joel(who came later) before going to see kevin/winghing/wengngai at the new labs...
then i spent the next 4 hours helping out at the bouncing egg booth, which was pretty fun coz there was sexyback... shackles!!
stopped for cheesecake at plaza sing on the way home with clarence...

caught up with heroes and one tree hill on sat before meeting jillian/elliot at kap to finish our chinese oral assessment script...
then it was off to miche's debate gathering at sam's place...
most of the ppl in attendance were from the dep lot of 2004, like rachel/alessa/nalli/suhas/shang/mark/jonauyong/kal/terrence/joshhoe/samchan/paul..
chatted during dinner amidst the liverpool-manutd match...
then it was a marathon 4 hour game of monopoly, punctuated by a late-night walk and ben&jerry's ice-cream...
abandoned the game to just chat at around 1plus where only kal/auyong/miche/sam/paul/me were left...
super funny conversation, and everyone but paul/me left at around 2...
blog-hopped a bit before sleeping at 3plus, and 4 hours later it was off to church...
lunched at carl's jr marina square with sam/jake/rachh, then slept till 7...
