as i'd hoped, Christmas '08 ended on a far better note than it began...
early on Boxing Day morning, as i sat in a cab back home, recovering from the alcohol intake just a few minutes before, i remembered to whisper a thanks for all that has happened in '07, as well as for those that did not happen, which i've come to believe is for the best in the grander scheme of things...
Christmas normally marks the real end to the year, when i pack away all the stuff that i had been using up to that day, and make space for the stuff that i'll be using in '08...
and with exactly a week till i trundle back to school, i have a feeling '08 will pass at a blinding speed...
of course there will be days when every hour cannot seem to go any slower, but i think these will be in the minority, as most days i'll be wondering where all the time went that i needed to finish all my assignments, study for the 2 blocks of internal tests and the last few weeks consolidating 2 years' of knowledge for the final IB papers which count for 70% of everything...
i hope i would have secured most of the other 30% by then...
anyways, back to yesterday...
the rush at church wasn't as hectic as past years, 'cos i think i had wisely narrowed my list with the utmost discretion...
unlike the music of the previous years, food items dominate the bags of stuff i got this year...
post-service, went for lunch with jake/sam before heading to sam's place where josh/meixi joined us..
watched Bourne Ultimatum, and shortly after the debaters started arriving for the annual ac debate party...
the highlight of the night would have to be shivana's drinking game which we played last year, but instead of wine, we had vodka instead...
and 40% alcohol does nasty things to the system especially since i don't normally drink...
but it was hilariously fun, and i staggered into bed with a smile and a hope that a hangover would not greet me this afternoon when i awakened...
with just a few days to put the rest of my work together to get a good start for my last academic year for at least a while, i'd better get going...
happy '08 ya'll...
cheers
