what's the best attitude to take with you into the exams?
for me, every block of tests is as important as any, and perhaps that can be attributed to the fact that in ac, there's this thing we do where we move our desks to an exam location the last workday before the tests begin...
in a year we normally have one in the dining hall and the other in the auditorium, and while moving my desk to the latter on thursday, it made me realize with all certainty that its gonna be 10 days (or more accurately, 6 days of tests) of assessment, of proving not only to the examiners but to myself that i've still got it...
ok not that i've got it, but that i've made some headway towards getting a respectable close-to-perfect diploma at the end of the year, the only exam in my life that actually matters in my future, particularly if i want one overseas...

this time round, i'm gonna try something slightly different...
instead of the usual rushed memory work i find confidence in just before the papers, i'm gonna take a more arts approach towards the three humanities papers that matter most to me...
i guess while i've done pretty well for them so far, i've not quite gotten used to the fact that i'm no longer a science kid, and i've always banked on my SL subjects as the ones i have certainty in...
at least from my perspective, the arts approach would be having big concepts and from there narrowing down the facts needed in answering the nuances of the essays...

i'm really impressed with the work i see some of my classmates and schoolmates putting in, and i wish them all the best...
i should say i've done my fair share too =)

just smile at the papers,
John.
