sunday morning rain is is fallin'...
ok, so its not actually morning, nor are there any rainclouds in sight...
but its a pretty nice beginning to the day...
woke up about an hour ago after a 10 and a half hour sleep...
went for the first dep meeting at RI yesterday...
met paul and darius for lunch before that...
most of the intermediate ppl were there...
except for aaron and the other ri person, not sure what his name is...
went to shop at raffles/suntec/citylink area after that...
only bought sophie kinsella's (shopaholic series author) new book...
"the undomestic goddess" - not bad at all...
was reading last nite till nearly 2...
the three of us pigged out alot...
had bruch at delifranc...
then some food at the carrefour delights corner...
then some food at kfc and ice cream at macs...
pretty fun, but walking throught that whole stretch is pretty tiring on the legs...
going for service at expo at 4...
haf a lunch appointment tomo at fish and co with some ac ppl...
then a PW group meeting with meltee, jo seow and cherry ong...
casiNO! x) (that's our project title btw)
still have not done any of the hols work...

got back all the results today, plus some of the overall scores...
this is really depressing, but here goes...
Lang. Arts:
76%, A
Maths (MA1101):
20/30, B, need only ONE MORE MARK TO HIT A!!! (and it was carelessness... i noe my work ks... x)) and i think i can get an A overall counting the normal work...
Chinese:
70%, A (hope it does not get pulled down by my normal work)
IS1101: Astro:
69.05... need 0.95 more marks for A!!!!
IS1102: chem:
i topped the class by quite a bit... 82.27% =)
IS1103: bio:
43/60: A
IS1108: other chem
very very very very lousy... my test was only a B+, 18/30... and overall....
my gosh this is depressing... 57.7%... (cries...) a C+... can almost die...
IH (humans):
after my high essay and test marks, i failed the stupid group project!!! and by a HUGE amount... 18/50... i dunno what happened, but i HOPE my A remains...
so there, my GPA is gonna plummet from last term...
but its the hols, and i dun wanna think abt it too much...
didn't bring anything home really...
except for maths and chinese assignment...
plus need to do the SPIRE project, aka PW...

so ends another season of american idol!
2005's winner is the amazing carrie underwood...
glad that she knocked out Bo Bice...
not sure what would have happened to the idol industry if he had won...
one downside is that the winner's single pales in comparison to last year's..
and vonzell didn't win of course... quite a pity, she was really fantastic...
the finale all in all was really pathetic...
albeit a few performances, namely carrie's "angels brought me here", vonzell's all star performance and bo's "sweet home alabama"...
i keep thinking of season 2 and 3 and wonder where all the excitement went...
there was so much hype, so many more good performances, and what was lacking this year was
1) the lack of past idols and finalists coming to perform, which is normally the best part
2) the lack of suspense given by ryan seacrest when announcing the winner...
so its pretty saddening...
but enough about that (though i can't wait for ami5!!)
got some other results back today...
bio i haf a 72% (43/60),
chem a 75% (30/40),
chinese 70% (56/80),
LA 76% (for the last assignment at least),
humans 89% (counting from the 23/25 for essay and 17/20 for test)
awaiting maths and my other chem paper that's coming tomo...
so far things seem pretty merry x))
but there's someone hu's getting higher than me in quite a number of subjects...
not sure who will top the class in the end...
went for camelot last nite...
was pretty cool by any standards... great acting... thanks michE!

its been a really interesting weekend...
didn't do ANYTHING on sat... was at home lolling my time away...
but then came the excitement!
at 9-ish on sat nite, paul messaged me, asking me too meet sam and him and josh at smu the following morning...
we were gonna try to gate-crash the smu hammers debates! (dun ask abt the name, it IS quite strange)
so we totally succeeded in getting in... and though some ppl realized we were underaged, they really didn't seem to care...
that place was swamped with foreigners!
all four debates we took part in were against non-s'poreans... it was completely eye-opening...
but even before that, smu, for a management university, lacks in management skills BY A MILE!
we arrived at ten-ish on sunday morning, and waited...
and waited...
and waited a bit more...
till it was 3 before we started round 1!!! 5 hours of our lives wasted...
had half-hour prep sessions...
asian debate style...
learnt quite a bit in terms of policy debating...
those filipino teams are all very sharp!
plus all the shouts of "shame"...
hahas... quite hilarious for us, who were completely silent...
josh was our resident "adjudicator", while sam, paul and i did EVERY speaker combination!
the funniest thing must have been round three, which ended at TEN THIRTY pm, when we were up against this international team comprising a singh (who was obnoxiously loud), an indian guy who could articulate "hear, hear" in proper english, and a MONK! i was just so amused....
but yeah, we lost to them... how can!!!
we won two rounds before this, against nanyang poly and one of five teams from a manila uni... lost round four to another team from that uni...
but i'm pretty satisfied with how it all went :)

went out after round four today with all of them to town...
school begins, and the results come back and the work rolls in...

had a raelly great day today...
actually a great afternoon-after-the-papers...
maths was such a disaster... totally FORGOT to do one part of the last qn... probably gonna lose four marks from there...
and chinese was WORST!!
didn't quite noe how to answer the compres correctly...
went to orchard with jo, mel and darius!
had chocolate fondue at coffee club, then walked around before giving in to the smell of famous amos cookies (in my case brownies)...
went to taka to buy some stuff...
though i only bought sushi...
thanks for a really nice day! x)

go carrie!!!

assessment day one.... pretty stressful...
but glad that the science papers are now over...
had track meet 4 hours after the exams...
it was amazingly boring, and i only managed to get a few chapters of chinese studied...
really worried for the friday papers... hope they aren't too difficult...
american idol tonite was only so-so for me...
getting really bored of the style of performances...
guess hope the finale will be better... can't wait for all the old ppl to come back and perform!
gonna collect my Apple's Tiger OS tomo...
AND study more maths and chinese of course...
so till friday,

hi there! its monday, and us ip don't haf school!! x) *HAHAHAS*
been studying the morning away...
taking a lunchbreak before continuing...
of course until its time to go for the premiere later tonite!
listening to ami3 group medley by the final 12 at the finals...
i so declare that shopping for men's shirts is horrible!
just to find the perfect shirt took me nearly two hours...
walked from centrepoint to mandarin's Esprit to taka and finally to paragon...
that was where i bought the weird-brand black shirt...
hope its nice...

yesterday andtoday were really fun!
but feel guilty for not doing any work at all...
after school, i couldn't go home yet coz i had to get my water bottle (nalgene) from the com lab where i left it... sadly, the door was locked and the it person had gone home...
so i though i might as well call june fong as she had the key earlier...
but she was being a moron and said that she was "too busy to attend to you"...
how long does it take to open a door? *argh*
so anyways, went home and practically watched 5 hours of tv... hahas... survivor included...
caryn was voted out!
neways, met darius at taka today to buy stuff...
then went to school earlier to get my water bottle back...
then had to wait around in the blistering heat for the college day food fare to start...
helped our class stall for abt an hour before leaving for suntec...
celebrated josh's birthday at sizzler...
took alota random photos... x))
going for DEP interview tomo...

ami was so sad this week...
poor anthony has gone out...
he was a really nice guy with a big voice...
but just not up to par with the other three...
still, go anthony!!
he forgot his words in his swan song...
and carrie was crying so much... (as always)
he did really well in last nite's performances...
plus vonzell also cried onstage after her amazing first song...
all in all, a really sad week...
but on a brighter note, two tests down, 4 more to go!
had IH and IS102 today...
in other school lingo, its humanities and chemistry...
so i'm pretty freed to concentrate on the subjects i'm MORE worried about...
basically chinese...!!!
really quite stressed out by it...
haf to make sure i now all the vocab so that i can get the 50% that's within the syllabus... the other 50 is outside syllabus, so no method of studying... just haf to hope i get at least half of the 50 marks so i can get my A...
next term is even worse... the new mark-scheme is completely outside syllabus...

there's a helpsheet test tomo, and quite a lot of chinese and maths to practice in time for next week's papers...
oh and the whole thing about electricity just flew over my head...
was trying the tutorial qns and i can't go past qn 2...
gonna need some consultation for that...
with that in mind, i shall be a studious student and go work!

its monday! hahas...
not that its really exciting or anything, but i must stress that its near the assessment for us nj ip ppl...
so there's tons of studying to do and assignments to complete...
i'm just redoing my milosevic dialogue, & planning to finisht the MI thingy as well...
yesterday was a completely ordinary sunday...
went to church, but didn't have lesson today...
went to lunch at siglap with musks minus sam plus michE...
ate at KFC... then went to cartel for ice cream, albeit not the 10-scoop one...
bus-ed to the hiew residence to try to get some cl compo done... did really little of it...
most of the time was spent discussing maths qns with jake and testing adriel on his chem/phys...
how does one calculate average speed? (HAHAS!!)
went home for mother's day dinner...
we're meant to have a half-day today, but after lessons, had to stay back to finish the IH board...
so left school at about 2 eitherways...
went to macs with darius for lunch...
just got our assessment schedule...
glad to say that next week we dun haf lessons on monday, tuesday and thursday...
can study more for the papers on weds and fri...
and we have a 3 1/2 hour break between maths and chinese on friday...
hmmm.... guess i can memorise more chinese characters in that time...

congrats to josh and the acjc team for the win...
hung around with sam, michE, al, val, rachel and lloyd after that...
ate the food at the reception, which basically garnished every dish with the same odd craker-like thingy...
took the train home with michE and al after that...
at bishan, i bumped in joel who was there buying mother's day gifts...
told him abt the whole bryan chua thingy at the top 10 speakers' rankings...
hahas... congrats to bryan/kenneth/josh/adi for getting ranked btw!

the top 5 AMI performance was today...
scott and anthony were pathetic compared to the other three...
i'm so for carrie and vonzell!!!
quite a bit of work so far...
i think there're only two subjects i'm particularly worried about...
IS1108 and MA1101...
trig is just so confusing and that chem module is being taught so fast!
really need to up the work factor and concentrate more...
doing the LA monologue on Milosevic...
so its off to do work on my white apple...

been listening to the new united live songs i got from jake...
amazing! really really love them...
been staying over at friendss places the past few days..
jake, josh and i were at sam's place on friday...
went to the dep advanced exhibition the next morning...
lunched at ichiban boshi with josh, jake, sam, lloyd, michE, al, val and their friend from vip...
left for home to do some work (tried to) before going to the hiew residence...
spent the night watching a funny show about a flying elephant during the vietnam war (!!), taking weird photos and preparing the church camp publicity presentation for sunday...
sunday's pub stunt was hilarious... what with the random pics of jake/adriel/lightsabers...

bought my mac (yay!)...
sad thing is my house has no wireless internet yet so haf to go to school to use...
