my first post since the very start of the week...
its been busy to say the least, but pressure can sometimes be a good thing...
3 things in particular stood out in the week-
a) wednesday's menu launch at essential brew... the food sucked, the service was slow, but we had a really good time...
b) thursday's prep - lasted a bit longer than we thought it would... by a bit meaning 6 hours, plus or minus...
c) friday's debate, opp-ing against cat high... a round dropped, but a debate lost? one wonders...
oh and there was yoghurt and ramly burgers being sold outside the staff room... yoghurt sucked, but the ramly burgers were apparently pleasant, though by friday the booth had vanished...

music of the week:
rihanna's first single off her sophomore album "a girl like me" due to be released april this year - "SOS (rescue me)" - catchy, very catchy...

mary j. blige's ultra-successful soul track "be without you" off "the breakthrough" is really amazing, more soulful than her previous upbeat album "no more drama"

westlife's 3rd single off "face to face" and the first not be a cover - "amazing" bears the signature pop ballad feel...

jason mraz continues his odd streak with "geek in the pink" from "mr. A-Z" and released in an iTunes EP titled "geekin' across the galaxy" - funny song...

some people say the earth will end in fire

i side with those who favour fire

gave church and school a pass over the last two days coz i was feeling really weirded out after ncs on saturday...
besides it being a disappointing competition, sam/paul and i were not at all well...
had dinner at holland v's crystal jade la mian xiao long bao with joan/auggie before going to meet miche/sham/val at settler's, the new board game-eatery... the outlet itself left much to hope for, the food was gross, but the games were hilariously fun... thanks miche! =)
chem test tomorrow: it just hit me that i'm really not clear about A LOT of stuff...

its friday again tomorrow, and am i glad...
friday marks the weekend and the end of a short but stressful week...
it was pretty relaxing to have a holiday plonked in the middle of week 7 yesterday for the rather unpleasant results the school achieved in the Os... L1R5 of 12.47? leaves much to be desired...
anyways, the first two days were pretty ok, tests tests tests...
cleaned up the debate room on monday...
trained the sec1s on tuesday...
totally slacked wednesday away at home...
went out only to suppress my urge for cheese fries and get the parachute band's live from new zealand album "all the earth"... i bought it coz i really really wanted "to live is Christ"...
tonite's gonna be hectic, gotta finish an entire chinese project on CNY and prepare for the oral presentation of 5mins that's gonna be taped, all by tomorrow...

but in the midst of these, here's my latest fav. tracks and artiste to check out and movies to catch:
grammy winner john legend: ordinary people (the album "get lifted" is pretty cool)
next year's grammy-definite teddy geiger's single: for you i will... very very nice...
goo goo dolls: better days... easy-listening track a la "iris" and "here is gone"
and of course, American Idol 5: the top 24!!!
the individual a capella round was really good, showed lots of versatility...

common tests/continual assessments/coursework submission: whatever your school calls it, here it is!
the coming two weeks are filled with assignment due dates/tests, and i'm amazingly stressed out... i'm at a LARGE disadvantage coz i dun even noe things like counting how many mol of concentration a substance, argh...
doubly-hard studying i guess...

we had one of those lessons today...
really looooooooooong lessons...
its funny to think about actually, but unbearable to live through...
michelle sham came to visit... (hi michy sham!)
watched DH/the OC highlights with rachh/sher...
went to the hiew residence to bum around...
sampled the planetshakers' Evermore dvd from last year...
love the title track...
watched jake's collection of music videos/nonsense clips from tvtube.. .
josh was sleeping... x)

the 48th annual grammy awards on thursday...
big winners: green day, U2, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend...
my fav performances: John Legend (the best, definitely), Mariah, Gorillaz/Madonna opening act (to talk about), U2...
so stayed up to watch the awards show, slept for 5 hours before the JGs on friday...
went to sam's place to prepare for the night's debate...
by prepare we mean sleep, watch scrubs/8 simple rules/desperate housewives, play table tennis/sample X-men 2/3...
we had the 830 slot, along with scgs/ijtp...
thankful that we won the first round! x)
other winners i so far know are cat high, ri, scgs...

the ONE album i really really want right now...
the songs are amazing, and i do hope the show comes to singapore soon...
actually, that's one of 3 albums i want, but it definitely ranks highest...
the other two are the one tree hill season 2 soundtrack and delirious? "mission bell"

its been a really good end of week 5...
half way into the first term and things are starting to really heat up...
common tests begin next week with my bio blood tests on tuesday...
and we got the motion on friday for JG round 1...
against ri team (b)... not sure why ac wasn't asked to send a subsidiary team when they won last year... how unseemly...
prepped with josh and michael for a bit before taking a tour of the new campus...
watched desperate housewives with sean/paul/sam chan for the rest of the time...
season 2 premieres in singapore at 10pm tomorrow!

excellent ways to end a week:
have a good long first prep for a motion...
have tea and fries/nuggets at holland v's essential brews over a long long chat... :)
attend worship practice at noon and a debate at srjc after that... (congrats to the sec 3s, ya'll should be really proud of yourselves yeah? :D)
have pizza with teammates past and present...
watch ppl playing house of the dead/DDR/para-para...
have lunch at a friend's party/laze by the pool with adriel/chat endlessly with sam/jake/daniel/debng/deblam/audrey...
check out new books at borders... x)

so yeah, that's how i spent my weekend (friday included)
and then week 6 is upon us!

its been such a break the past 5 days, really refreshing...
stayed in on saturday doing absolutely nothing besides sampling new music...
churched with sam/jake/josh on sunday before going to 2 visiting locations...
had dinner at sam's place, where we were all doing our own stuff on separate comps, pretty interesting... stayed over with jake/josh...
left for lunch on monday, shopped in what must have been only a handful of shops at raffles city...
conferenced with rachh/sher about today's studying plans...

the expo's coffee bean was unfortunately closed today, so we had to walk all the way from the station and back to get to the airport...
studied at the pacific coffee company where jake/josh/debng joined us...
talked/listened to music-recordings till 5 plus before going for lunch with debng/rachh...

bbq at the hiew residence rounded up this break perfectly...
watched spy kids 2/casting crowns dvd/news (for the oscar nominees lah)/CSI: Miami...
talked and laughed about singapore idol/survivor/desperate housewives/silly ads and everything in between...

one more day to catch up on work before school resumes...
with it will be competitions non-stop for some time...
the build-up to a challenge is seriously tense, adrenaline-esque...
