waking up at 4am on monday and tuesday almost killed me...
but its really far easier to wake up at an unearthly hour then
at some semi-early 5-plus timing, coz the feeling is terrible...
could hardly open my eyes yesterday...
so i'm back to the 4am routine today...

finished the two maths tests, got back LA and MI essays,
will complete IH presentation today...
and tomorrow's a holiday for the IP ppl...
the highlight of the week was yesterday's drama thingum...
yay 01 with gha, gim lim and shihui!
really really funny...

its time to make a sound,
time to let it all out
in my heart is a rising song,
a song of victory
of what You've done for me!

i want the world to see,
john.

i'm still completely hooked to the songs from rockstar inxs so long after the show ended...
and cherry liking the songs has made my obsession worse... x)
for the past two days we've been using every free minute to do maths...
really worried that i can't do well for the two tests next week...
i need the marks to pull up my final grade...
plus i must read through the notes for chem coz adrian loh is so unclear!!

dep ended today...
yong wei asked us what we had intially expected from the programme,
and what we said was very divergent from what we had gotten...
although, as paul said, we had expected the series to be longer,
we all learnt alot more than we did last year in these few hours...
haf an exhibition on nov 16...
jyc meeting was normal, ended really early...
meant to be using this time to study and what not...
i should get down to it...

we're just two lost souls swimmin' in a fish bowl, year after year
wish you were here,
john.

finale of rockstar inxs today...
marty, mig and JD gave amazing performances, but mig was the first to be eliminated
after singing bohemian rhapsody (bad move after suzie did it so well)
of the first three songs, i like marty's best (pink floyd's wish u were here)
JD did the rolling stones' you don't always get what you want...
second song, JD totally won it...
his rendition of inxs' what you need outshone mig's last week...
marty was given a less show-ey number with don't change...
so yeah, i'm really happy that JD Fortune won...
plus he's so much better looking, and his dark hair matches inxs
better than marty's blond look (as cherry pointed out)
there's gonna be another rockstar contest next year!!!
so there are two reality shows i'm looking forward to:
this and AMI 5!

had a really nice day in school today...
first three lessons before lunch were more taxing on the head,
so it was a good thing they were earlier in the day...
after lunch was bio (we played with lego)
and the MI logic test... glad it wasn't too hard...
IH was just random discussion... we're gonna haf two more tests,
which i must use to pull up my grades...

and then came civics, where wei chai was totally pmsing...
just because cherry, darius, jo and i went down just in time for the
national anthem doesn't mean he had to be so cryptic about it..
we were hardly listening to what he was saying coz cherry and i were doing maths...
then mer and jolynn came over to talk about my transfer back,
and we were discussing school life in nj...
nat and gladys joined and we just spent the whole two periods chatting about
survivor, amazing race, all the tv dramas, while darius was organizing the IP chalet thing...
its meant to be a few days before jyc, so not sure if i'm going...
they want all us ip-ers to have a huge party after our indidual class retreats..
yingting and i were saying on the bus that it would be a good idea,
if only it can be pulled off well... hmmmm...

who's this mr jimmy?
(you can't always get what you want...
but if u try sometimes,
you just might find,
you get what you need...)

easy easy,
john.

just found out that my exams are NOT on the week of oct 3 as widely believed...
they're 2 weeks later, which disrupts all my plans, tyvm...
so yes, i haf more time to study, not that i want it or anything...

glad i went for the review lesson on surds, indices and log today...
really refreshed my memory...
there's a philo test on logic tomo...
i'm not entirely confident, but there's no looking back now...
hahas...

bad music,
john.

sunday nite...
a pretty nice weekend, having been alone at home most of the time...
thanks for the messages abby, jake, audrey...
amanda: yay one tree hill fans!!!

dep yesterday was quite fun...
debating without notes...
tests discipline more than anything...
had lunch with darius and paul at secret recipe before that...

jyc meeting was as per normal, with a number of voices being heard more than others...
pretty lethargic, everything seems...
haf some ideas for worship though (as in myself)
yet to tell josh...

two weeks to finals...
time to really mug like the past 6 exam seasons i've been through...

its what i do best,
john

four days since i last updated...
had to take a short hiatus to get my life in order after falling ill and absenting myself from school for the first two days of term 4...
not many assignments, but we've got strange projects to contend with...
one of the involves eggs and vinegar, and one involves balloon-operated cars...

one tree hill season 1 reruns are being shown on channel 5...
and i realised today while walking to lunch with joel, cherry and darius that ghariza and jessica also love one tree hill!! so exciting please...
next week's the finale of rockstar inxs...
the show's really made me appreciate rock music so much more...
suzie was voted off last nite...
she's amazing, but i think it was a fair choice...
the 3 guys, jd, mig and marty are more inxs' type...
i think either mig or jd will win, since the former's australian and the latter's got the strongest voice... marty's too scream-ey...
check these tunes out:
mig ayesa: kiss from a rose
jd fortune: pretty vegas (an original composition)
suzie mcneil: bohemian rhapsody (the best performance of the entire season)
oh and we dissected a goat's heart today... really smelly but nonetheless fun...

fulfilled my craving of la mian xiao long bao yesterday at taka's branch...
went with jo, cherry and darius... ate too much...
we actually played bridge in the restaurant lah!
walked around before settling at macs for drinks/ice cream, then home...

dep and jyc meeting tomo...
just finished doing up the registration forms...
see how things go i guess...

when it snows,
john

there's something exciting about reading new entries on ppl's blogs...
especially entries that detail what's been going on in that person's life...
it may sound really boring, but in some sense its a way of keeping up with what's going on... sometimes at least...
heard that obs was kind of a bore... except from jo, whose entry on it is a far cry from what she had anticipated it to be...
full of screaming and what not... still, i'm glad i used the time to study...
on the subject of mugging, i've not exactly been at my optimum...
and with the onset of this fever and headache, its only made things harder...
dun think i'll be back in school till wednesday...
*man, my forehead's bumpin'*

dep on sat was pretty ok...
did stuff on logic links...
jyc meeting was pretty quiet, what with half the comm absent...
did this filming thing for a pub stunt... yet to see how it'll turn out...
spent the last 36 hours sleeping, interrupted only by the need to study bio...

thanks cherry, jo, mel for the written report and all...
its a great help...
will patch things up once i'm up and running again...

between order and confusion,
john.

"some say ravens lead travellers to their destinations, others say a solitary raven is a sign of good luck... but many ravens mean trouble is to come..."
-lucas scott, one tree hill...
the way the story is so well-weaved is amazing...
i'm in love with the song choices, the lines they use, the narrations...
and the cast is so good...
just watched both season 1's and 2's finale, the former on dvd and the latter on channel 5...

met cherry after her grade 8 piano exam at ps..
saw darius and auggie and josh hoe coincidentally...
we went to ikea to shop and eat...
went to holland v's nydc to meet javier, sean and rey for dinner...
went to essential brew for drinks...
quite relaxing, if not unfulfilling...
i've been finding it hard to get lots of work done...
i've concluded its the lack of pressure...
at least they'll be more of that tomo since its the last weekday of the break...
or should i say today, since its 2 plus already...

"there's only ONE tree hill"
john.

two days into the september break...
i've not exactly accomplished much, but breaks are meant for taking things easy...
nonetheless, to work i shall go tomorrow!
slept alot yesterday, did some chinese...
was up helping josh get the chords rite for vespers today till 2!
woke up at 10, realized there were many other errors in the chords, so was playing the piano incessantly for an hour or so trying to get things rite...
met josh at aci at 12 plus, watched the to-be prefects cheering and what while talking to paul, jin, adriel leong and daniel yang... brings back memories? hahas...
saw collin also...
lunched in the canteen (josh was so excited to be eating there again)
had this long conversation with the aunite at "just for mee" about school fees...

met up with the band members for vespers in the board room...
practiced in the stuffy, unairconditioned 4.1 classroom...
josh and i decided to do some acoustic fine-tuning with a piano before going back to practice...
couldn't find any piano but the one in the SAC...
it wasn't till 6 plus did we get to use the cpa...
played the yucky grand piano (so many fingerprints)...
it wasn't too bad...
big thanks to sam, jake (for coming down adhoc), josh, douglas, jon wong and sam loke...
really fun!

won't be watching one tree hill tomo coz i haf a dinner appointment in holland v...
however, i'll be watching it on thursday morning's rerun!

things i'll never say,
john.

what an amazing week!
besides being the last week of school for term 3, it was also the week where we celebrated the wonderful imparters of knowledge...
might i say that on teachers' day, i really didn't quite to much except sleep for 15 hours and finish the LA and IS1109 assignment that was due on friday...
which, coincidentally, didn't bring much excitement either...
it was passion pursuit day for nj, a day where teachers exhibit their hobbies to show us that they are not just robotic worksheet machines...
i bought $10 worth of coupons to support them, but didn't attend any of the activities...
just stayed in class collecting/completing the IS1109 thingum and playing cards with darius, cherry and jo... must say it was time better spent!
went home to change before meeting darius and paul at marina square's carl's jr. for lunch...
couldn't stay long coz in the last minute, i had to go down to meet the admin of acsi to discuss my return... needless to say there's more time needed to consider, and i'm meeting chock tomo...
sat was boring save for meeting cherry at ps so she could pass me the tape of last week's one tree hill and i could give her back the ignis shirt i borrowed... (i was wearing this red shirt in a sea of ppl in purple on wednesday)
bought an esprit shirt and cod liver oil pills from gnc to improve my eyesight (i think)
we had this ice-blended milo thing at the kaya toast outlet...
waited for jo, ate takopachi and went in search for shoes... didn't find anything we wanted...
they left for wesley and i for jane's house for jyc meeting...
it was interesting, wasn't it?
declined to stay over at the hiew residence coz i hadta put stuff at home and get clothes for sunday...
churched as usual before going for lunch with sam's parents and the musks... first time the 5 of us were in the same car for a long time...
good food at the shangri-la...
went to sam's place to play table tennis/watch jake play cs...
headed to the arts house for aaron's book launch with paul...
short but entertaining... got his autograph...
the reception was pretty good too...
walked to raffles city with josh, kylie and jon/rachel auyong(s)...
walked around for awhile before heading home...

i have a study schedule for this week!
*pats self on back*
so yes, to hit the books...

of cups and chocolate,
john.

Wednesday midnight...
missed one tree hill tonite to go for han an's birthday celebration at swensens holland v...
the party itself was strange, but later javier, sean, rey, changming and i went to essential brews to drink tea till 11...
chatted alot... really relaxed restaurant... spent lots of time smsing cherry also...
she, jo, darius and some others were at mer's house throwing her a surpise birthday party...
heard it was really fun... wish i could have been at two places at once...
*happy birthday han an!*
**happy birthday mer!**
teachers' day celebrations were so uninspiring...
first there was aces body combat nonsense, where mel, jo, cherry and i just stood around refusing to do anything...
then one quarter of the way into the performance section we just stood up and left to buy drinks/ice cream and went to class to do work... while doing that the mass dance songs came on over the pa and we started dancing... x)
went with gladys to put cards/gifts into the teachers' letter trays/tables coz we couldn't find them...
the council's walking radio thingy was really not good... i dun think it was a good idea in the first place...
went over to ac to visit teachers and talk to paul and sam...
sadly i couldn't do the latter, so we'll haf to arrange another undisturbed time...
said hi to tons of ppl, and talked to seb for a bit as well...
*all this talk is about going back to ac btw*
spoke to josh hoe for a while, and he made me realize that i've got to give it more thought first...
rachel cheung told me to see dr ong straight away... hmmm....
lunched in school, but went with tim chan, rayan and collin to nydc at holland v for dessert...
spent lots of time catching up and talking...
went over to bk to look at photos on coll's notebook...
i really miss om and all its nonsense...
cherry and i met at ps where i passed her mer's pink sheep, and we walked around carrefour before leaving...
her dad taped tonite's oth for us!

its nice to haf tomo to rest and do some work...

laughs,
john.
